An original, limited edition mezzotint etching from a copper plate. An falen tree in Lesnes Abbey Wood, London. Edition of 12. My inspirations include Ian Miller, Goya, Bosch, William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones and dark folk tales from British history.
Each etching takes about 16 hours to prepare on a copper plate. Then I go to the print studio and print them one by one on a Rochat press on heavyweight off-white Hahnemühle paper that is acid free, alpha cellulose, with deckle edges – each print takes about half an hour to ink up the plate and then put through the press by hand (not allowing for duds when the paper hasn’t been at the right wetness etc!). Image size: 14cmW x 9cmH. Paper size: 18cmW x 28cmH. Contact direct for framed option. £90.
